Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) knows that, with unemployment at historic highs, folks in Savannah may need some help looking for a job. That's why he's bringing together local businesses and employers to host a job fair in Savannah on Monday, November 9, 2009. The job fair will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Savannah Civic Center. This event is free and open to the public.
"The numbers say that the economy is getting better, but there's one number that's still too high, and that's the number of folks out of work," said Barrow. "Sometimes finding a job is not as hard as it seems, you just need to know where to look."
Throughout the event there will be a series of workshops on job searching, resume writing, effective interview skills, and applying for jobs with the City of Savannah.
The following is a partial list of businesses and employers that will have representatives at Congressman Barrow's job fair:
· Georgia Ports · Gulfstream · Mitsubishi Power Systems · St Joseph Candler Health Systems · Memorial Health · Georgia Power · Georgia Department of Labor · Savannah Police Department · Savannah Tech · Chatham County Sheriff's Department · University of Phoenix
