On January 28, 2009, Congressman Barrow joined a majority in the House of Representatives in supporting the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The bill was signed into law by the President on February 17, 2009. Here, you can see how stimulus dollars are being spent at home in Georgia's 12th Congressional District.

On Saturday, February 6, 2010, Congressman Barrow hosted "Congress on the Corner" in Soperton at the Piglet Supermarket.  Folks from all over Treutlen County came out to visit with Congressman Barrow, get help with government agencies, and ask Congressman Barrow questions about what's going on up in Washington.  For more details about "Congress on the Corner," and to find out when Congressman Barrow will be in your county next, click the "Congress on the Corner" button on the lower right side of this screen.

On Monday, January 18, 2010, Congressman Barrow spoke at the CSRA Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Day Observance at Paine College.  The event, which was keynoted by Barrow's colleague, Congressman Patrick Kennedy of Rhode Island, was united under the theme, "We are One in the Spirit:  Preparing the Way for Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness."

On January 16, 2010, Congressman Barrow was in Sylvania in Screven County for the annual Screven County Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration.  Despite the rainy weather, many folks came out to honor the memory and accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  The celebration included an assembly after the parade at the Screven County Courthouse, at which Congressman Barrow addressed the crowd.

Barrow Applauds Senate Passage of PAYGO January 29, 2010

Fiscally conservative budget rules, passed by the House in July, require offsets for any new government spending

Washington, DC - Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) today applauded the Senate for passing pay-as-you-go budget rules, or PAYGO.  PAYGO, passed by the House on July 22, 2009, formally establishes the principle that our country should pay for what it spends with offsets elsewhere in the budget.

Barrow, fiscal conservatives, take steps to reduce spending, balance the budget


Washington, D.C. - Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) joined fellow members of the fiscally conservative Blue Dog Coalition today in releasing a comprehensive plan aimed at cutting spending and balancing the budget.  The "Blue Dog Blueprint for Fiscal Reform" provides a concrete pathway to reduced deficits, and includes a number of proposals that historically have earned bipartisan support.

DISASTER RELIEF FOR HAITI
